FLT4 is a receptor tyrosine kinase of vascular endothelial growth factors C and D. The protein is mainly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells and thought to be involved in lymphangiogenesis and maintenance of the lymphatic endothelium. It is also expressed in neovascular endothelial cells of the liver, splenic sinusoid, trauma repair tissues and tumor tissue1.
